Kevin's Blog

A New Direction

by jeff on Feb.21, 2010, under Site News

Bad news today, but just for me. Carrie and Kevin continue to do well. Kevin informed me yesterday that readership to this blog is falling faster than my IRA. Smart guys like him have a way of checking the number of visitors to his site each day (don’t worry, he can’t tell who you are) and he did not seem pleased. He did not come right out and say that it was my fault, but the implication was clear. He seems to think my writing skills are the problem, and also pointed out that the decline seemed to coincide with my posting more photos of myself. I countered with the argument that as he and mom improve, people just don’t care any more and want to move on to something more interesting. The previous post by Kevin could be the first move in an effort to ease me out of this blog so I am considering, in the words of Barack Obama, “Change We Can Believe In.”

I am considering changing the primary focus of this blog from Kevin and Carrie’s transplant, to an emphasis on me and my life. I may be polling the readers we have left to get a feel for what you would be most interested in. Stories of my childhood in a small town in West Virginia, my life in high school and how I became a member of the Chess Club and Treasurer of my senior class, amusing stories from my fraternity house at WVU, personal heroics from the Vietnam War, and exciting moments in commercial aviation that will make you forget about Sully, are just a few of the subjects running through my mind. Please don’t respond yet, I still have to run this by Kevin and I don’t want hisĀ  feelings hurt if you are in agreement with me.

I personally want to hear more about your fascinating life Jeffie…..I am on the edge of my seat, wanting to turn to the next page in this book. I laugh, I cry, I am bitting my nails anxious for the out come at the end of that page. Please, please keep posting!!!!

Dianne and I also get a laugh and a smile because of Jeff’s posts to the blog. Do not put Jeff out to pasture. Maybe a nice alliterative title like “Jeff’s Joyously Jocular Journal”. Still working on it. Will keep a prayer candle lit today that all goes well with the clinic visit.

  • Jeff George(the younger one...lol)

I’m slowly finding out, by reading Jeff’s blogs, where I get my sense of humor…hahaha

    How about this:
    “The Dryer Side” by Jeff
Or, if I occasionally wrote with him, we could call it:
“High and Dry” High meaning spiritual, dry meaning witty. I can’t write without spiritualizing, I’ve been this way since elementary school, haha

Jeff, the only reason I did not check the blog the last 2 days is totally my fault, not yours.

Yo fools, I’m pimpin’ it CNET style with RSS Feeds! So don’t be all down and out for Clicky count, know what I’m sayin’?

  • jeff

“If nothing else”, did you really say that?

  • Kathe Hanson

Thanks for the video…I watch TV seldom and really don’t dabble in the internet much, so this has been a new experience for me. As far as I can tell Jeff, you are defintely better entertainment than the TV ….much funnier and way more interesting. So I vote to keep Jeff for the humor, if nothing else, at least for a while until we can find a better purpose for him.

You all look and sound great and I am overjoyed that this is all behind you. May God keep all of you in His protected hands.

    Love you,
    Kathe

I definitely agree with Carrie! Jeff you need to start your own blog site. You can’t let that talent go to waste; besides, who else is going to make me laugh every morning?

  • carrie george

The joy of the Lord that day was absolutely the ONLY emotion I felt. It was surreal, I had no fear or anxiety, just the joy and the presence of the Lord around me/us.
I truly believe that Jeff needs to start his own blog site. This would be a fun new project, don’t you agree? I really love the idea and wonder if maybe he might be surprised by the number of readers wanting to follow him? Any ideas for the name?

  • valerie Armfield

Oh no! Not reading a blog from you would be like starting my day without coffee. Trust me, this is not a pretty sight to behold. Enjoyed Kevin’s blog and the great video. Carrie, how did you pull off looking so beautiful as you were awaiting your surgery? After pondering that once again I think I figured it out. It was the joy of sharing an integral part of yourself with your son and also the sweet presence of the Lord radiating in and through you. What a testimony! Have a blessed Sunday!
