Out of Surgery
by jeff on Feb.09, 2010, under Site News
Sorry this has taken awhile. Kevin’s surgeon, Dr. Singer, came to the waiting room at almost 8pm to let me know that he was in recovery and that the surgery, though technically challenging, went well. He is having an issue with high blood pressure but otherwise tolerated surgery well. She does not feel that the tumor will be an issue for the transplant. I am sitting with Carrie now and she looks remarkably good and thinks I do to. We are both asking for pain medication but doesn’t look good for me. I was allowed to see Kevin for a few minutes but he is not very responsive yet. He should be going to a room in an hour or so. Overall, a long day and I am glad this part is over. Thank you all for going through it with us.

Praying that you are all still sleeping, even though I know that they come in and check on you a million times during the night and the doctors show up at 5:30am to check on you. But praying just the same.
I will continue to check back as the day goes on…….

Great news. We have been thinking of you all day. It’s been almost like waiting for news of
a new birth, from Jeff the expectant dad. And in a way this is a birth, a new beginning. Happy for all of you.
Sending love,
